Our approach to marketing is meant to be fresh, clever and agreeable. Good Marketing should be fun and effective, one that provides measurable returns. Something that is universal to all and unites us. To give us a platform to succeed. So we can express our artistic creativity. Showcase good logic through engineering and philosophy. To celebrate and spread the mission. But also to give end users the power, ownership and fulfill their needs while accomplishing the goals of the greater community. This needs to be done so in an organic, grassroots fashion that compliments the brand and image that Cardano has masterfully made through strong pillars in its foundation whether you would like to admit it or not, And it is also needs to be cost efficient, impactful and did we mention measurable? 

Unfortunately marketing has been a complex topic. This really comes down to a simple question, what is being taken away from the community and will there be a return on that investment. Return means a lot of things, intellectual property is return. ADA can be return. new wallets created can be a return, changing one life is a return. Measuring a project's worth quickly becomes subjective so the real measure is to find a standard that satisfies all of the above. Can it be done?  We feel the solution is in front of us but will need to be executed the Cardano way, especially when we are looking to find our bearings and hop on the good foot. 

But most of the time it takes money to make money, some input and output but we say that we don't need to take away much, if at all of anything, from the treasury in order to add instant value and return. In fact, we can whip up value and create markets together. We can accomplish the mission in a way that empowers the very principles the chain is built on. Lets show the world the power of web3, a community coming together in grass roots to mint pure utility and value into the world for generations to enjoy. Lets drive innovation without taking a hit to our treasury. 

Finding the right product market fit in web3 is on the tip of our tongue . Finding a great product requires a keen understanding of engineering and science, and personal preference in design and style.  this takes patience and the right resources. you need to get close and put things under a microscope and test them to make sure they are pure and proofed. 

 

The best marketing investments are ones that keep providing value over and over years, well after it is created and released. It can be difficult to come to a consensus on how marketing can give us the bank for our ADA that we are looking for.  So many different opinions including the belief that no money should be spent on marketing. That we should spend treasury funds on developers and it should all be invested in tech. We tend to agree.  But we have not given up on finding the right way to market and onboard while creating end user value. Our intent is to provide something that promotes the Cardano mission and eventually benefits the Cardano Treasury directly with a positive and measurable ROI. To be able to launch the project without using Cardano Treasury funds is a goal. To launch a product and directly pay the Treasury is a reason why we are excited to make it grow.

 

We see an opportunity here to create an onboarding tool that is not too technical. Newcomers should not be overwhelmed by technology or turned off by a chip or zk proof that they are not fully knowledgeable about. The learning curve should be inviting and appealing. So we wanted to start off with a basic function and keep things simple and just step back and appreciate the moment without getting sucked into the chain at every glance. Though this is a great value and opportunity to showcase blockchain with something tangible, an NFT and RWA that does have value onchain and on hand. One that represents what the blockchain is all about. The elements to success are already in place, we just have to arrange them together and watch the community take it to heights we could never imagine.

Another issue with Cardano marketing is that you cannot go to the store and buy Cardano and walk around with it in a traditional tangible sense of meaning. End user reach should be available for individuals from all walks of life, similar to how Cardano is accessible. To be able to go into a fine luxury environment or your local corner store, or even a toy store, this project will find its way each market. You should be able to walk in and onboard yourself into Cardano with this purchase, to understand everything Cardano stands for and to be able to participate in the benefits that it has to offer, including a new wallet, nft, staking ability and educate yourself, all the while keeping the value and utility with you at all times. Owners become a walking example of the power of eutxo.

We need a simple exercise. A tangible showcase. something what we can make Cardano do together. Something that you can explain to your grandmother but also impress the rare collectors and enthusiasts of web3 and beyond the web3 firmament bubble that we have come to know.

     The intent with the project is to honor our past and create a tribute collection of watches that will take us into the future of web3 and real world assets. This can be a great marketing tool, conversation starter and educational piece that walks around with you all hours of the day. To remind you it is time to benefit from the fruits of your labor, every 5-day cycle when the airdrop hits. The watch will track epoch time and our project will continue to push the limits and beauty and engineering for epoch calendars and to change the way we understand and own our time. Lets combine the digital and mechanical to create epoch time pieces. This watch has utility and there is none like it in the world.  We realize that Cardano has this never-ending heartbeat, a steady and reliable pulse and it unites us all no matter what timezone we may be. The very thing on our mind 24/7 will manifest itself in to tangible piece of art. A representation of what we imagine when we close our eyes and see Cardano. 

     Most important, the initial watches and perhaps all generations of watches to come with a message that continuously speaks to us. The message is a constant one within the community, a reminder to touch grass and to dedicate time to disconnect from the ongoing and never ending creation of blocks. There will also be a reminder to emphasize that the things we put on our body are a reflection of our self and this is sacred. Self-reflection is necessary for a promising life, we will honor the days of the week that can be easily forgotten in this movement, the days of rest. 

     For those reasons, the original watches will not have any chips or digital means in them. no batteries or bluetooth. Just a reminder to appreciate the engineering of the movement within the watch and appreciate the longevity of a finely crafted work of art. A real world asset that has its own force, an input of energy that passes through the engine and produces the output of utility and value. This will be an independent and self-driven mechanical piece that can survive on its own means. Future versions of the watch may incorporate ZK proofs to protect the identity of the owner and location while still verifying its authenticity. And to challenge the community to push to make Cardano and official provider of time, To allow each individual to run a Time Node, to become a time oracle. To create time together and in a decentralized way. Put Cardano on an enteral and transcendent path by connecting Cardano to something that applies to all and something we can all agree on, time. 

Future versions of the watch will be reviewed by the community DAO.  We intent to touch upon these ideas with respect to the hundreds and thousands of research papers, computer and mathematic engineers and scientists. That many of the concepts are not originated here but perhaps can see a second life or the attention that it deserves. 

We will spread education by incorporating our virtues in to the details of the watches. Of course Cardano has always held the principles of peer review, decentralization, ownership, self sovereignty, privacy, governance, utility, value, scalability, inclusivity, open source... Let us know if we forgot any of these amazing philosophical elements that feed our soul and give us purpose, that make the world a better place. Open source and transparent communication call for a sense of selflessness and to feed the greater good. Sometimes the things that are bigger than ourselves can only be accomplished together. This is how this project is intended to thrive and prove its worth in practice, through smart contracts and in the code to create trust and a platform for the community to feel at home.

Why Create Chronoracle?

     Time is universal to all, similar to Cardano. Watches and time pieces unite people beyond language, religion and boarders and Cardano is doing the same. We find value in the material of the watch but more importantly the stories they carry. in this case there is utility added and created through staking and smart contracts just as there is utility and value in the watch itself. 

 

     We can manifest the principles of the blockchain into a tangible object. Cardano runs deep in the hearts of its community members, just like a personal timepiece does for so many people. The engineering of a watch and the engineering behind Cardano put us at awe and to combine these ideals will create something great and do it justice. 

     Marketing this watch and wearing it around will prove to have a constant reminder for all to see and also to educate. Owners of the watch carry the message over and over, epoch by epoch. that will cost the Cardano Treasury no money in advertising and keeps ownership on the hand of the individual. This is marketing with a real world item that holds value and has function with private ownership. They will be able to share how the watch is earning them money through staking ADA and nfts. How the watch gives them a say in governance and to leave our stamp in the forever ledger that has zero downtime.  We can celebrate the turn of each epoch at the same time as every person on earth, in unison. That is an incredibly powerful event. Its unlike any other moment, not even the new year is that way. Cardano can really separate itself from other blockchain/crypto this way a truly transcendental feature. One that we should continuously recognize and put on high. 

 

     We intend to keep a natural, grass roots feeling, a personal touch and an appreciation for the arts. Create the same levels of inclusivity that we see on-chain. Allow people to express their creativity and pay a tribute to Cardano. We strive to help build a reputable source of income for the treasury and not take away from where we need to put a lot of resources at this time. More importantly in a time where ADA today will be of much different value than 1 year or 5 years. Its time to be smart with our ADA and do it transparently. The use of smart contracts will be proof in the pudding that we all expect to see when enjoying the fruits of a decentralized and trustless system.

Competition and copy pasta, Web 3 and the watch industry have this in common. But true users find out what is real and what is pure. Lots of people see fake watches and instantly think about how great the real one is. Sometimes we find out the hard way, as the same in web3. Still, copy pasta in this case is encouraged here. There so an infinite amount of ideas and ways to tell time. materials used, shapes and styles. Making a Cardano watch and getting the message out through copy, pasta can be just as impactful in spreading and marketing Cardano but should be done in a good way. Of course we don't want everyone grifting and trying to benefit off the Cardano brand and name in malicious ways. 
In fact this the opensource mentality here almost invites copy pasta. Watch industry has tons of fakes out there. not something to admire of course but getting the message out there means that even someone who might copy a Chronoracle watch will still carry the story of Cardano and also create markets for folks to create their own version of the 5 day calendar.

Provide the infrastructure, and education others on how to create their own timenode. In this case we can get together, share the api's and infrastructure necessary to showcase to newcomers that a simple truth is something we can all agree upon and verify and create by our own means, while retaining ownership, value and utility. 

Rewards could be distributed to NFT holders who run time-verifying nodes and stake their NFT to prove eligibility.

This is project can bring the total package, and the greatest part is there is so much room for everyone to contribute. We will invite all to participate and succeed because this mentality.

This is a grass roots movement. It puts the people first. It gives them the opportunity to own, share, educate and soak up the value digitally and in real life. Each person will carry their own version and story no matter where they come from. A true grass roots movement for all to participate in.

We see that marketing Cardano doesn't have to come with majors costs that put a dent in our treasury. Its clear that the waters of roi from treasury funds are not very clear. Its murky. Watches are works of art, are rare, unique and carry value. The roa on this project will be measurable and have a quick turn around. The number of wallets created, the opensource code or patents that come from this project are measurable.

We could have certainly taken the route to start off with a digital version of The Epoch Watch, make the watch a wallet and make each digital version and this could be what the community ends up working towards, but we decided to take this path to prove a point that lasting trust starts by stepping back and drawing lines before entering.  We are boarding a new universal ride with no boarders in so many ways.  We must be able to get off the ride and get back on by our own free will, we should be safe while we ride and other questions come in to play, privacy, rights and so on. 

Also the first watch being a traditional mechanical watch will appeal to engineers, watch enthusiasts and others who appreciate great and complex works of art. It seems appropriate that the first series holds these principles.

To add to the reasons why we are not putting digital tech in initial watches is because we do not want to complicate the onboarding process.lets welcome newcomers and educate in a simple way. This is my epoch watch that tells me when the next payday is vs this is my epoch watch, it's a nft and wallet and royalties, staking, liquidity, private keys. Onboarding should be fun but not complicated, simple NFT and a watch that runs by its own means for decades to come. 

We understand that the ultimate goal is to build the project to a point where the community takes over and can make its own decisions, choose its own future, have control of what is produced and to benefit from the fruit of their labor. We are nothing without each other and we are better together.

There is a path that is difficult to walk when it comes to ownership and doing the fair a just thing for investors and the community at large.

The use of a Cardano logo in our opinion should benefit the entire community. People selling t-shirts or mugs with the Cardano logo should give some profits to the Cardano Treasury or even the Cardano Foundation for use. We would like to leave these sorts of decisions up to the community in that no one should own what is becoming a universal symbol and human right. Still there is something to be said about honoring the ideas and creations of individuals who have put in the time and money and designed something brilliant that creates value and a brand.
